Task assignment is often ad-hoc: someone emails 'can you follow up on this?' or tasks pile on one person. Smart task distribution balances workload, respects specialties, and ensures nothing falls through the cracks. This automation monitors deals and leads in Zoho CRM for actions that trigger tasks: 'Proposal needs review,' 'Follow-up call due,' 'Customer waiting for response.' When a task-triggering condition is detected, Nora creates a task in Zoho CRM and intelligently assigns it. Assignment logic: Check current task workload for each team member. If the deal has a vertical tag (e.g., 'Tech SMB'), assign to the specialist in that vertical if they're available. Otherwise, assign to the person with the fewest open tasks. Cap at 15 open tasks per person. Example: A prospect requests a demo. Your lead-to-deal workflow creates a deal with 'Demo Request' task. Nora sees that your 'Tech SMB' specialist (Sarah) has 8 open tasks and your generalist (Bob) has 14. She assigns to Sarah because (a) it's tech, and (b) Sarah has bandwidth. Sarah gets notified and completes the demo. No task gets lost.
