DNS Record Backup & Sync
Automatically backup your DNS records and sync across accounts
Nora backs up your GoDaddy DNS records weekly to a secure file and can sync them across accounts if you change registrars.
DNS records are critical infrastructure. A typo in your MX record breaks email. A missing A record kills your website. But managing DNS across multiple domains is error-prone. Nora queries your GoDaddy account weekly and exports all DNS records (A, CNAME, MX, TXT, etc.) to a versioned backup file. If disaster strikes and you need to recover or migrate domains to a different registrar, you have a clean, audited record of what was set. Nora can also sync records across multiple GoDaddy accounts if you manage business domains separately from personal domains. This is especially valuable if you have 50+ domains — manually exporting DNS is tedious. The backup is also useful for audit/compliance reasons if you need to prove your DNS configuration at a point in time. Nora stores backups with timestamps so you can compare DNS before/after any changes.
How it works
- Query GoDaddy API for all domains in your account
- For each domain, fetch all DNS records (A, AAAA, CNAME, MX, TXT, NS, etc.)
- Format records into a structured, human-readable backup file
- Store backup with timestamp and version history
- Compare to previous week's backup and flag any changes
- Optional: Sync records to secondary GoDaddy account or different registrar
